Description
A one part, acrylic, intumescent mastic sealant designed for filling gaps, joints, voids and irregular holes to maintain the integrity of fire rated structures. In the event of a fire the intumescent material in the sealant expands to many times its original volume to stop the passage of flames via the sealed gap.
Typical applications for intumescent mastic include:
- Sealing gaps around fire door frames,
- 'Bedding down' fire hoods
- Sealing around pipes and cables that penetrate firewalls.
- General gap filling around fire rated structures
Can be used on most common construction substrates, although, for unusual substrates, we recommend that a small area is tested before full application.
Can be used in most low movement joints up to 25mm wide with no slump and can be overpainted.
Long shelf life
This mastic has been independently tested in accordance with BS476: Part 20 & 22: 1987 and can provide up to 4 hours fire resistance depending on depth/width and volumetric area (see table below).
Acoustic performance
Weighted Sound Reduction Index (Rw) of up to -57dB to BSEN ISO 140-3.

Availability
Intumescent Mastic is supplied in single 310ml cartridges or in discount packs of 12 cartridges (single colour packs).
In Brown, Grey or Off White colour (which can be overpainted).
Health and Safety
Do not ingest. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes. Use barrier cream and/or gloves. Normal good industrial practices should be observed.
