DESCRIPTION:
Improving ventilation can provide new pathways for the transmission of flames and smoke in the event of a fire.
Where a ceiling is fire rated, for example where fire rated downlights have already been specified, air valves must be fire rated to BS476 standards.
These ceiling air valves from Astroflame reinstated the original fire rating of the ceiling.
Activated by fire the intumescent insert expands to form a protective char that prevents the spread of fire and smoke for 60 minutes.
